More about me
Years in Practice: 6
Hi there! And congratulations on taking this step for yourself. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ebony and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and helping people is honestly one of my favorite things to do.
It has taken me a little while to get to this point, but I am so glad to be here. I have about 14 years of experience working in human services, however have focused the past 6 years specifically on counseling and working with adults, adolescents, couples and families.
I am a pretty seasoned professional, however I do not consider myself to be stuffy in my approach. I want to help you get to where you want to be at your own pace. I believe we make changes when we are ready and that we cannot do it for anyone else, so I encourage you to ask yourself; “Am I ready?” and “What do I really want?” I will challenge you and sometimes we may have those dreaded difficult conversations; however I believe that sometimes it is necessary to address the elephant in the room in order for us to become the best version of ourselves.
I have a history of working with individuals with a broad range of concerns to include: depression, anxiety, lack of coping skills, issues with anger, relationship issues, past trauma, poor communication, abuse/neglect, self-esteem issues and family conflict.
I would love to be a vessel to help guide you along your way, so I look forward to working with you.
About online counseling
Online counseling allows you to receive care from an online mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Ranging from $35 to $80 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
