Trying to find just the right fit in a counselor can be an intimidating and overwhelming process. Speaking with someone about things that are troublesome, that you have been struggling with or that you can't seem to change can be difficult. I aim to make that step easier and less awkward. We will develop a working relationship that is non-judgmental, relaxed and goal focused.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas with over 25 years experience. I earned my Masters degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kansas. I have worked in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. I currently provide outpatient therapy in a private practice environment. I have helped adults, children, couples and families. I have experience with stress-management, anxiety, depression, self-esteem along with relationship, parenting and adjustment issues. I use a cognitive-behavioral approach while incorporating a holistic view point between the mind and body.
You are encouraged to reach out to me through BetterHelp so that we may find a convenient time to communicate whether that be through messaging or live communication. I look forward to hearing from you.

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.

Susan has helped me immensely. I feel confident sharing with her and taking her wise direction.
Susan is amazing to work with. Very insightful.
Working with Susan has been an absolute delight and a journey filled with warmth and understanding. From our very first conversation, Susan has shown an incredible knack for making you feel like you're chatting with an old friend. Susan's gift lies in her ability to listen with not just her ears, but with her heart. Every word I shared was met with genuine interest and care, creating an environment where I felt safe to open up and be myself. But what truly sets Susan apart is her boundless compassion and wisdom. Her insights and advice were like gentle nudges from a trusted confidante, always leading me towards the best path with kindness and love. What I appreciate most about Susan is her honesty and sincerity. She doesn't sugarcoat things but delivers her thoughts with a mix of honesty and tenderness that is truly refreshing. It's like having a supportive friend who isn't afraid to tell you the truth because they care about you deeply. In essence, working with Susan has been more than just seeking guidance—it's been a journey of friendship, understanding, and unwavering support. I couldn't recommend her enough to anyone in need of a compassionate soul to walk alongside them.

Susan is a great listener and very non-judgmental. She asks thoughtful questions that help guide me to better understand my issues and feelings rather than trying to tell me what I should do or how I should feel.
