Welcome! My name is Jocelyn R. Elliott, LSCSW (Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker) located in Topeka, KS. I have over 16 years of experience providing individuals, couples, and families a safe place to explore challenges, alleviate emotional struggles and embrace their true selves.
I have experience working with the Foster Care system, providing clinical support for adult individuals experiencing crises at a local community mental health center, and was able to develop my skills as an advocate for the disenfranchised members of our society through each of those roles.
I am a member of WPATH, OutCare, and the National Association of Social Workers that further assisted me in my clinical skill development.
My practice is grounded in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and I am excited to announce I am furthering my education, focusing on learning all I can about The Polyvagal Theory.
I currently live with my two adult daughters, their partners, and two grandchildren. (I won’t even mention the five, no, six cats and the dog!) I am thoroughly addicted to binge-watching tv shows and Diet Mountain Dew.
I see individuals, couples, and families through virtual platforms as well as in-person (as needed). I have been in private practice since 2014.
At my core, I believe that every human has the right to reach their best self – as defined by THEM – and only them!
Currently, I am only available to schedule sessions via messaging as my daily session scheduling is subject to change. Once we have established a time, I make every effort to maintain that time for you every week. I find it promotes a sense of connection, responsibility, and consistency.
Sessions scheduled with me usually last approximately 60 minutes and occasionally last a little longer so I ask for your patience and be assured I will provide you with the time you need in your journey.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
