Darren has been a great help for me overcoming depression. He's listened and validated progress I've made when others were only questioning why I hadn't made more progress, and in so doing (at times) been the reason I've continued making progress even when external factors inadvertently risked undoing progress. He's also been really useful in providing practical suggestions and tips for approaching problems in ways I had not previously considered, which has really helped me tackle problems that were previously obstacles for me. I would absolutely recommend Darren to anyone struggling with depression, motivation, or stressful influences.

Hello, I am a counsellor and wellbeing coach registered and accredited with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society. I work with clients dealing with many issues, however my areas of expertise would be anxiety, low mood, lack of motivation, dealing with life transitions, low confidence or feelings of not being good enough and personal health and wellbeing.
Maybe you're considering making some positive changes to your life but have difficulty prioritising your own needs and saying 'no' to others? Perhaps there's something you've always wanted to try but keep putting it off due to bad experiences or feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt? Could it be that a fear of being negatively judged by others leads to avoiding social situations or stops you from taking the initiative in relationships or at work? These are just a few of the issues I have helped previous clients with and had amazing success.
The way I work would be described as integrative, which means I have been trained in several modalities. This allows me to alter my approach to be more suited to client needs, rather than working one way and expecting everyone to fit in with that. I have a lot of experience working in different settings and providing therapy to a wide range of clients. This has included working in the NHS, various mental health charities and also the private sector via an EAP (Employment Assistance Programme). Working in the mental health sector since 2016, I have completed over 8000 client hours to date. I have also been specifically trained to provide counselling online and via telephone. I've had consistently good feedback from my clients, with them frequently mentioning my authenticity, insight, understanding of problems and of course the highly effective tools and techniques applied to make progress, sometimes in as little as one or two sessions. I have a very relaxed and calming nature which seems to be very much appreciated in putting people at ease. If you feel I might be the right person for you, please do get in touch.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Darren has been a pleasure to speak with each week. He has a gentle, understanding and unobtrusive nature that makes him very easy to openly speak with about anything. Honestly I wasn't sure this was for me but he's ben so helpful and the insights I've got from this have been invaluable. Will certainly continue working with him for a long time to come - couldn't recommend Darren more!
