Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.

Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.

Dr. Lisa was a very good match for what I was looking for an for what I need in a therapist. She challenges me when I need to be challenged, listens when I need a listener, and checks in with me between sessions to make sure I am making progress. I also get the impression she has customized her approach to our sessions based on my individual needs, which gives me confidence in her abilities and helps me trust her advice.

Reviewed August 2023

Dr. Cooney is very attentive and provides the therapy format that matched my expectations of how therapy would need to be structured to find value in it. She listened to my desired outcomes, and the things that have worked for me in the past, and modified her approach to our sessions to fit those requests. She follows up between our sessions every now and then to check in and I find that to be going above and beyond considering how many patients she must see. She has also modified her schedule to fit me in when I had a conflict come up a few days before our scheduled session and was able to get it rescheduled quickly so I didn't fall behind in my progress. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Cooney for her combination of professionalism/personalization, and her clear expertise in the subject matters I have wanted to discuss.
