Welcome.

I’m here to offer you a gentle, accepting space where you can talk freely, without judgement and without being told what to do. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, lost, or simply in need of someone to listen, I’ll be alongside you, at your pace and in your own time.

I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, practising in the UK, with a diploma in counselling and additional certifications in online and telephone counselling. I also bring experience from working with Mind, the NHS, and the Alzheimer’s Society, as well as volunteering with Cruse Bereavement Support and the Samaritans, supporting people through some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

As a German living and working in the UK, I offer a different cultural perspective in counselling: one that blends directness with warmth, and attentiveness with clarity. This approach can help clients see things in a new light, opening up fresh ways of understanding and living with long-standing emotional challenges.

People come to me for support with grief and loss, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, loneliness, anger, work-related stress, and the emotional effects of dementia. I work with adults of all ages and backgrounds and offer a particular welcome to older adults.

I don’t promise to erase life’s problems, but together we can find new insights and ways of coping that allow you to live with greater purpose and self-understanding. Taking the first step toward a more fulfilling and peaceful life takes courage, and I’m here to support you in that process. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t have to face it alone.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.

Jurgen listens carefully to what I have to say and responds with intelligent, thought-provoking questions that help me to reframe my life challenges in different ways. I really appreciate that he avoids clichés and oversimplifications of complex issues (something which I have found problematic in other experiences with therapy). He is knowledgable about different kinds of theraputic approaches and adjusts the approach according to the type of issues that I raise in a given session. He responds quickly and professionally to messages outside of sessions and demonstrates high ethical standards. Jurgen is kind and easy to talk to and I genuinely look forward to my sessions with him.
