More about Luke

Hey, I’m Luke I work with clients through relationship problems, depression and all kinds of anxiety from social anxiety to that deep existential kind. And bumping into our lovely friend shame along the way because that tends to come with the territory. This is the work I love.

I also focus a lot on;

· low self-esteem / low self-confidence

· ADHD

· Bereavement and Breakups

I offer traditional talking therapy that’s guided by Attachment theory, Emotion Theory, Cognitive Behavioural therapy (CBT) and humanistic therapies (Person-Centred, Relational).

But that’s just therapy jargon! What does that mean?

That means each session is about you and your emotions. Using the therapeutic relationship that we’ll form together to build safety (through, empathy, no-judgement and honesty) so we can explore the parts of ourselves, emotions, habits and behaviours that hurt. The way we do this is by feeling, hurting, crying, raging, and making mistakes, all the messy humanness that comes with living.

“We’ve got to feel it to heal it”

How I work

I don’t believe in a passive approach to therapy, I aim to be a present companion through your journey because it’s a hell of a lot easier to have company going into the unknown than being alone.

I do bring myself into the space to normalize what it is to be human and real. I’ve had personal experience with anxiety and depression. Experienced my fair share of pain, close bereavement and my continual process of grief, constant challenges of feeling not enough and people-pleasing. All the good stuff.

I value deep connection, and our ability to make meaning which I find constantly inspiring. Love all things gaming and arty/creative, am an avid explorer (having lived in 3 different countries). I’m a proud big brother, a terrible multi-tasker, and just another person trying to make sense of what it is to be human.

So if you are just skim-reading or you have made it to the end of my rambling and would like to see more of what my way of working is like. Or if you are just curious and want to have a chat send over a message and we can set up a call.

I wish you all the best and luck in finding the right therapist for you.

Take care, Luke 😊

Luke is truly brilliant! he has helped me so much and given such invaluable insight. talking to him feels like talking with a friend; it’s a safe space and i don’t ever find my self feeling self conscious or embarrassed - something i’ve really struggled with with previous therapists. At the moment we only do live chat sessions ( due to my anxiety over the phone) but these have been so helpful, he responds quickly & with the live typing feature it’s only a tad slower than actually talking which is great. I couldn’t recommend luke more, he is kind, understanding & incredibly insightful.

Luke is warm and personable and really helps me dig further into how I am feeling.

Only had two sessions so I apologize if I haven't experienced enough to write a more encapsulating review but he definitely knows what he's doing from my untrained perspective none the less. But he can see past surface level issues and really get down to the roots definitely learnt alot about myself from only 2 sessions and descovered that what you feel on the base and even the layer under that it goes much deeper. I like what he said about revealing things just outside of our awareness. I am looking forward to many more sessions. Feeling relived that I've found something that's working for me.
