- LCSW, LISW
Yazmin Coleman, LCSW, LCAS-A, LISWS, CCTP, C-DBT, is a bilingual behavioral health leader, entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for underserved communities — but her journey to this work was not a straight line. Yazmin initially enrolled at North Carolina Central University pursuing a degree in Nursing. However, God had another plan. She completed her Bachelor of Social Work at NCCU, where her professors saw a gift in her that she had not yet fully recognized in herself. Their encouragement and belief in her potential changed everything. With their support and her own tenacious work ethic, Yazmin secured a HRSA grant and was accepted into the Advanced Standing Joint Master’s Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University — completing her Master of Social Work in just 10 months. The professional relationships she built during that season became the foundation for a career defined by excellence, purpose, and community.
A proud bilingual (English/Spanish) clinician, Yazmin has been in the behavioral health field since 2016. Her clinical career has taken her across the full continuum of care — from inpatient settings such as Holly Hill Hospital, to higher levels of care serving as an Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team Lead, to school-based therapy with youth, and outpatient therapy for adolescents and families. She has dedicated her work to the people who are too often left behind: individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, postpartum mothers, survivors of domestic violence, children with intellectual disabilities, and families navigating trauma. Yazmin meets people where they are, honors their stories, and walks alongside them as they work toward wholeness.
Today, Yazmin holds 5 active licenses across 5 states. Yazmin is deeply committed to pouring into the next generation of social workers — giving emerging clinicians the same encouragement her own professors once gave her.

Online counseling, sometimes called teletherapy, refers to talk therapy delivered remotely through digital platforms, such as video calls, phone calls, or chat. It can be a great option for people who face barriers to traditional face-to-face therapy, such as those living in remote areas, individuals with mobility issues, or people with busy schedules that make it difficult to attend in-person sessions.
Teletherapy also offers greater convenience and flexibility, allowing clients to access care from the comfort of their homes. Research shows that the treatment outcomes with online counseling are often just as effective as with traditional therapy, providing a viable alternative for individuals seeking mental health support.
