More about Sydney

  • 6 years' experience
  • Female
  • LCSW

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Utah with 6 years of professional work experience. I have interned with a family intervention and assessment team as well as interning with the VA, now working with men in addiction recovery. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, coping with addictions, family conflicts, trauma, and finding balance in the complexity of it all.

My therapy style is warm and also direct. I believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect and can understand how learning to navigate life is challenging. My approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy, humanistic, and rational-emotive where we can learn to address unhealthy thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I believe while humanity is all connected, I try to take an individualistic approach to meet each client need.

I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. I have been a client myself and can understand how daunting therapy may feel. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!

I am looking forward to meeting you and embracing your journey with support and empowerment!

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
