I know that reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step. I’ve been in counselling myself, so I understand what it can feel like to be the person sitting on the other side of the room, wondering where to start, whether you’ll be understood, or whether what you’re bringing is somehow “too much” or not important enough. You don’t need to have the right words or a perfectly clear reason for coming. You can simply start wherever you are.
For me, counselling is about having a space where you can be fully yourself. A space where you don’t have to perform, minimise how you feel, look after anyone else, or have everything figured out. I want our sessions to feel warm, human and collaborative, rather than clinical or intimidating.
I work pluralistically, which simply means I don’t believe therapy should be one-size-fits-all. We’ll work together to find what feels most helpful for you, at your pace.
I also believe that who we are and the world we live in matter. Our experiences can be shaped by relationships, family, gender, sexuality, expectations, inequality, culture and the pressures we absorb from the world around us. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, feminist-informed and inclusive, and I aim to offer a space where different identities, relationships and ways of living are genuinely welcomed rather than simply tolerated.
I won’t assume that everything you’re struggling with exists purely “inside” you. Sometimes our distress makes much more sense when we look at what we’ve experienced, what has been expected of us, the relationships we’ve had, and the wider circumstances we’re trying to navigate.
You can expect me to be warm, curious and down-to-earth. I won’t pretend to have all the answers or tell you how you should live your life. Instead, I’ll be alongside you as we make sense of what’s happening, notice patterns, understand yourself more deeply and work towards whatever feeling better might look like for you.
And there is room for humour too. Therapy can involve difficult and painful things, but I don’t believe it always has to feel heavy or formal. Sometimes being able to laugh, swear, sit with the messiness of being human, or simply say “I don’t know” can be just as important.
If something here feels like it might fit, you’re very welcome to get in touch. We can take it from there.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.
Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
