Victoria Duru is a board-certified nurse practitioner in psychiatry and family medicine who started her career as a young staff nurse over 15 years ago and worked her way up. She received her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Walden University in Minnesota, Minneapolis. After graduating she worked at a Correctional facility in Houston, TX. Her experience demonstrated the gap between medical and psychiatric care, and how the mind/body connection is often overlooked. The gap in care motivated Victoria to pursue a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner certificate at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley so that she can develop a practice that integrates medicine and mental health for the most effective treatment.
Brightside Health is a fully online mental health practice providing life-changing care for anxiety, depression, and related conditions through personalized Psychiatry and Therapy services available to all 50 states. Named the "best online psychiatry service" for 4 years in a row by such publications as Forbes, Healthline, Yahoo, VeryWellMind and Everyday Health among others.
