I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker based in Perth, Western Australia, with a special interest in eating disorders, body image, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, relationships and self-worth.

I work with adults and young adults who feel caught in patterns of overthinking, shame, self-criticism, people-pleasing, emotional overwhelm, perfectionism, avoidance or disconnection from themselves. Many of my clients are trying to understand ways of coping that may have once helped them get through difficult experiences, but are now getting in the way of the life, relationships and recovery they want.

My approach is warm, collaborative and practical. I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT-E for eating disorders, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy skills and trauma-informed practice, which means our work together may involve understanding the patterns that keep you stuck, regulating intense emotions, improving communication, reducing avoidance, building self-compassion and reconnecting with your values.

I have specific experience and training in eating disorder care, including as an ANZAED eating disorder clinician. I understand that eating disorders and body image concerns are rarely just about food, weight or appearance, and can be connected with anxiety, trauma, control, identity, shame, relationships, perfectionism and a need to feel safe.

As an Aboriginal and queer clinician, I value therapy that is culturally safe, inclusive and affirming. I welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients, First Nations clients, LGBTQIA+ clients, and people from diverse cultural and identity backgrounds. My aim is to create a space where important parts of who you are are respected, rather than treated as things you need to minimise, defend or explain away.

Therapy with me is compassionate, respectful and focused on meaningful change. I will meet you where you are, while supporting you to move towards a life that feels more grounded, connected and aligned with what matters most to you.

Online counseling, also known as teletherapy, is a method of delivering mental health services through digital means such as video conferencing, phone calls, or messaging platforms. It can be an ideal option for individuals who have difficulty accessing traditional therapy due to geographical distance, time constraints, or personal preferences like privacy and comfort. Many people find it easier to open up from the familiarity of their own space.

Teletherapy has been found to be highly effective, with studies showing that it can produce similar outcomes to in-person therapy, particularly for issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD. The flexibility and accessibility it offers make it a valuable alternative to conventional therapy settings.
