Do you feel overwhelmed or lonely? Maybe you just have day -to- day problems or you may have been dealing with mental health problems for a long time. Let’s get together and talk. You may find that this is a valuable way of getting a new perspective of yourself, or a way of motivating to do something different, or make changes that you never thought you could make with feelings of anxiety or depression. You want to feel better about yourself.
I love making life easier for individuals of all ages and have been achieving that gratifying result for 19 years through the good graces of a grant-based agency, specializing in the care for victims of crimes. Working with the full range of life experiences for individuals, families, couples, adolescents, and children is needed in these times of change and uncertainty more than ever when life’s path does not seem so clear.
I graduated in 1994 with a Psychology degree in 1994 from University of Houston, Central Campus. After working for a year in a half as a psychiatric technician in a psychiatric hospital, the desire to further my education became an imperative and I received my Masters in Counseling from the University of Houston, Clearlake in 2003, all the while gaining actual on-the-job personal experience working as a school counselor.
If you like upbeat and positive dispositions, the cheerful attitude alone could give you a hopeful outlook. If you would like a committed therapist who will care about you, listen patiently while give you space to tell your story, then I may just be the one you are looking for.
The areas of my expertise include relationship losses, intimacy issues, adjustment disorders, job related stress, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, depression and anxiety, family conflict, grief and loss, children behavioral issues, mood disorders, anger management, substance abuse, and helping victims of crime.
As an example of my therapy techniques, for anger management, I incorporate a three-fold approach. Walk away or brush it off, apologize, or quit getting mad about the same things you get mad about. Your success does not happen overnight. It may take many weeks of practice, but in the end, you will get very good in your responses to anger, becoming skilled in assertive methods for subduing anger and relieving any stress.
Working together to gather your history, understand your present problem, and getting to know your value system and the priorities you have in dealing with your issues is key to therapy. Sometimes a client just needs to be empowered with good listening skills from a therapist or receive positive reinforcement, maybe just be understood and wanting their feelings validated.
Whichever approach we decide upon, all make our relationship worthwhile for me to walk the journey of life with a person, to unlock doors of awareness and understanding, help them walk through to reach rewards of a fuller life, enrich themselves to feel more alive, enjoy this world free of pain or suffering.

It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
