More about David

Hello. I'm a licensed psychologist, based in South Florida, and have been in private practice for more than 30 years. I work with a remarkably-wide range of age groups, from 4-year-olds up to geriatrics, although my specialties are children and adolescents, with whom I typically build nearly-instant rapport. I'm the co-author of a best-selling parenting book, and have done a tremendous amount of media work, including more than 800 television appearances (everything from CNN to the CBS Morning Show, and from Nightline to Oprah Winfrey). I was a college professor for years, and have traveled the country doing workshops, training, and lectures in a variety of venues.

I practice primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy, which has the twin advantages of seeming to be 'common sense' based, as well as efficient and effective. I'm intrinsically a warm, empathic, supportive, encouraging, and enthusiastic individual, and-- when appropriate-- incorporate a sense of humor into my work. You'll be able to tell quickly that I truly enjoy psychology, and very genuinely strive hard to be of help to the people with whom I work.

Over the years, I've gained experience and expertise with a majority of the issues that challenge people most often, and nearly always find success in helping them to alleviate or overcome whatever prompted them to talk with a psychologist. I certainly hope to be of service to you!

Online counseling allows you to receive care from a mental health practitioner via phone, video chat, or instant messaging. It is convenient for those who may have trouble getting to or would prefer not to have in-person therapy appointments. Starting at $65 per week, online counseling is generally more affordable than in-person counseling. A study by researchers at University of California, Berkeley found that online counseling can be just as effective as face-to-face therapy while being more convenient, affordable, and accessible.
